The study, published in The Journal of Sex Research is studying about 300 heterosexual women over 10 years. The participants in the study aged 35-55 years and educated up to college.
"This study shows that the way women look at her body is a significant predictor of sexual function," said researcher Patricia Bartholow Koch, PhD, professor of biobehavioral health and women at Pennsylvania State University as reported by WebMD, Tuesday (29/05/2012).
The participants were surveyed about their sex lives for 10 years, has more fun, decrease or stay the same level of satisfaction as before.
Most study participants tended to admit his sex life is not as attractive as 10 years ago. It can be judged from the less frequent sexual activity and decreased sexual desire. Women who experience this much concerned about her own body image.
But there are some participants who claimed his sex life as exciting as 10 years ago. Even some of whom claimed his sex life more satisfying as you time.
Women who were satisfied was admitted to age only made him more confident and feel even more attractive appearance.
"Women think that aging makes them less attractive appearance and translates into less sexually attractive as well," said Koch.
