The biggest cause of tooth decay in children aged 3 years is because the child has been exposed to the bacteria-producing plaque before the age of 1 year. The bacteria usually come from the mouth of mother who moved to the child such as sharing a spoon.

Pregnant women can reduce the growth of bacteria in the mouth by chewing gum that contains xylitol as much as 67 percent. Chewing gum twice daily for one minute after a meal can make your mouth healthier condition.
