One eye disorders that can cause
blindness is glaucoma.
It turned out that this interference can be decreased
in the family thus increasing the
risk of developing glaucoma.
"Transcription factors exist, because one risk factor is family history of glaucoma," said Dr Amyta Miranty, SpM in the seminar 'Do not let your life due to glaucoma dark' AINI Eye Hospital, Jakarta, Saturday (05/05/2012).
Dr Amyta said let there affected siblings of glaucoma is 9 times greater risk, but if the parents are affected by glaucoma is 5 times higher risk than people who have no family history.
