Then why should you care now? Because the most valuable parts of the body belongs to you it may be risky too.

"I often see patients who think they suffer from several types of cancer, but really it's just a case such as Peyronie's disease goes undiagnosed," said Culley C. Carson III, MD, one of the researchers involved in the trial and a professor of urology at the University of North Carolina.

But do not trigger panic. Better to look at 4 facts about Peyronie's disease perludiketahui as quoted from menshealth, Friday (15/6/2012) below.

1. What causes curved penis?

Peyronie's disease occurs because of plaque that builds up in your penis. Usually when you first appear, the disease is considered as a local inflammation which later evolved into the scar tissue hardens and reduces flexibility and causes your penis to bend during erection.

"Peyronie's disease is often obtained from an injury during intercourse," said Dr. Carson.

But realistically, anything that can cause vascular trauma or injure the penis such as athletic activities or accident can also be blamed for it, he added.

2. How this disease affects male virility?

Once the scar tissue begins to harden and become plaque, it causes the tissue of his penis curved shaft because it was no longer part seelastis other parts of the penis.

"Curve can reach nearly 90 degrees," said Dr. Carson. "And the penis which usually requires treatment has curvature of 30 degrees or more."

3. This condition can interfere with your sex life?

"It could be so. First thing seen is when the penis is erect it hurts so much harder to use to have sex with your partner," said Dr. Carson.

But the pain that occurs during erection, it usually only lasts for 4-6 months. So most men who experience it can continue to have sex, but it's less fun, he said. Carson.

4. What is the latest treatment options?

Unfortunately, there is no approved oral medication and really effective way to handle it, said Dr. Carson. Patients usually wear Potaba, a drug already on the market but not yet proved its effectiveness by the FDA.

"When oral medication does not work, doctors usually recommend another drug called interferon, but its use by injection," explained Dr. Carson. But again, Interferon can not guarantee its recovery.
