Couple dwarfism or stunted stature could have normal offspring with an average height like most people. But not for the Johnston family. This family was named the family of 'dwarf' in the world, because Johnston, his wife and five children have dwarfism disorder.

Mate Trent Johnson and Amber are both experiencing a rare condition achondroplasia dwarf. Interestingly, five children underwent the same conditions. No wonder with 7 family members achondroplasia dwarfs, this family was named the world's largest dwarf family.

Achondroplasia dwarfism is a form of short-legged. The word achondroplasia literally means "without cartilage formation". However, the problem is not in forming cartilage but turn it into a bone, especially in the long bones of the arms and legs.

These families call themselves as 'real life the seven dwarfs (seven dwarves in real life)'. Although not all of them is the biological son Trent and Amber, but they are determined to raise her five children who have the same condition.

Trent and Amber met at a convention, and dated for nearly four years and married. Amber was five months pregnant.

Trent came from dwarf (dwarf stature), but the family of Amber is a normal family. This couple knows there is a possibility that their first child could be a normal sized, but at 31 weeks was found Jonah also had achondroplasia dwarfism.

"We are very pleased because we want kids who like us," Johnston says the couple, who are from Barnesville, Georgia, USA, as reported by Dailymail, Sunday (06/05/2012).

At the birth of a second biological child, named Elizabeth, is very traumatic for Amber. Due to the height of only 122 cm, body circumference (with a pregnant belly enlarged) Amber reached 129.5 cm.

The couple wanted a large family, but her husband did not want to put Amber in the risk of traumatic pregnancy. They also decided to adopt a child.

Amber and Trent decided to adopt three children from different parts of the world, namely Ana from Siberia, Alex and Emma from South Korea from China.

Children with dwarfism disorders are often prepared for adoption and also ill-treated in other countries because of differences they have.

Families are not taking out a loan to adopt, nor receive assistance from the government to help raise her children, despite the fact that the family is considered to have a disability.

"We live within our capabilities. We try to do everything myself," said Trent.

"I believe there are people who really small non active. But our family does," added Amber.

Amber is a mother who stayed at home and deal with school activities such as Parent-Teacher Association and Girl Scouts. Trent craft pedals while making extensions to the car that helps encourage people dwarfs. But its main job is as a base supervisor at a local college.

All people with achondroplasia have short stature. The average height of an adult male with achondroplasia is 132 cm and average height for adult females is 124 cm, as reported nih.gov.

Characteristic features of achondroplasia has a head and neck is average-sized, short sleeve, upper arms and legs with very short legs, a limited range of motion at the elbow, and an enlarged head with prominent forehead.

The fingers are usually short and ring finger and middle finger may diverge, forming the look of the hands of three parts (trident). People with achondroplasia usually have normal intelligence.

Health problems commonly associated with achondroplasia is slow or stop breathing for short periods (apnea), obesity and recurrent ear infections.
